Yay! I look forward to Rita’s free Italian Ice days every year, and once again, their fine establishment is offering their First Day of Spring promotion for a Free Regular Size Italian Ice to every guest between noon and 10:00 PM on Friday, 3/20/09.
I know where my family and I will be heading for (free) dessert after dinner tomorrow night! I even have my favorite Rita’s flavor picked out and ready to order. Mango, hands down.
In regards to the Rita’s stores, I was recently discussing with my friend Leslie that we’ve both noticed at least one of the Rita’s shops in our area has closed down… the Manassas, VA location near Foster’s Grille and K-Mart. The store is now empty, the phone number has been disconnected, and the store no longer shows up on the Rita’s website for locations. Rita’s of Manassas, please know your store will be missed!

From what I can see on their website, the following Northern Virginia locations are open: Alexandria (in the Plaza at Landmark), Ashburn (in Ashburn Village Shopping Center), Gainesville, Haymarket (in the Dominion Valley Market Square), and 2 in Woodbridge (in Potomac Mills Mall and in the Madison Farm Shopping Center). Locations that are not open yet, but are “coming soon” are in Fairfax and Stafford.
