My friend D. told me that a few days ago she went to the Safeway store in Fairfax Towne Center to take advantage of the awesome International Delight coffee creamer deal, and at check out, her receipt stated near the bottom that she had won a free $25 gift card! Woo hoo! She wasn’t sure what the promotion was or how she got it, but she was of course thrilled! She actually almost missed out on it because she didn’t look at her receipt very closely, but was having some issues with the self check-out machine so a customer service rep. had come over to help and looked at her receipt to let her know that she had won!
I called the store and asked them if this was a promotion still going on, and they said that it actually was for their Re-Grand Opening on Sat. 1/9/10 – Mon. 1/11/10. Random customers were selected to receive a free $25 gift card, and were notified on their receipt. If you happened to shop at that store during those 3 days and didn’t look at your receipt that closely, you might want to pull it out of your purse and take a look to see if you won!
The customer service person I spoke with said that other Safeway stores in the area may have the same deal during their Grand or Re-Grand Openings, but that it depends on what current promotion Corporate headquarters wants to do at that time.
As we’ve seen with other grocery stores opening in the area, it is a good idea to check out their specials (they tend to have a lot of good deals, coupons, and/or promotions during these opening events) and ask customer service what unadvertised deals or promotions there may be, such as the $25 gift card giveaway.
