If you’re a new Aldi shopper, be prepared to:

  • Bring a quarter to use for “renting” a shopping cart. Don’t worry, you get your quarter back at the end, when you return your shopping cart
  • Bring cash or debit card (they do not accept credit cards)
  • Bring your own bags (or you will need to purchase them at the register)
  • Get extreme savings without coupons (most items they sell are signature Aldi brands, and for the select items they sell from other manufacturers, they do not accept any manufacturer coupons)

Laura,

I’m disappointed that Aldi doesn’t include produce in their specials flyers on their website that is included in the printed flyers. I would email them, but I don’t think it would help.

I’ve searched for another site that includes all the specials in the printed flyer and found your site.

Yes, I get the flyers on a regular basis, but would rather automate the process and not have to look at the flyers at all.

Will this page: http://frugalfriends.wordpress.com/2010/02/28/aldi-deals-22810-%E2%80%93-3610/ or another page in your blog always feature the latest Aldi offerings, or is there another alternative site that will list them and be up to date?

I’m a programmer and want to automate my shopping experience by perusing all my local grocery stores’ weekly specials and matching their offerings with my needs. It will create a table with store names, items, and prices per unit, then plot the route in the GPS. It would help if I could find a reliable source for Aldi, Publix, etc.

Thanks for the Aldi info.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the comment. I think the reason that the Aldi flyers vary, is in part due to regional differences in sale items. For example, I believe the produce items on sale in the DC area are not necessarily the same produce deals in other parts of the county, although I could be mistaken. I receive 2 flyers, one in-store (previewing next week’s deals that does not include produce) and one with my Sunday Washington Post (which does include produce deals). These two feature mainly the same weekly specials with the exception of usually 5-10 items.
I would encourage you to contact Aldi about this and see what their answer is. I have a contact in their PR department, so I could contact her and ask that as well if you’d like.
I will continue to post Aldi’s weekly specials as advertised here in the Washington DC metro area. You can find those posts categorized under “Aldi” here.
Regards,
Laura
