A Month of Giving and Giving Thanks

As we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving near the end of this month and are reminded of all the things we’ve been given for which we are thankful, I wanted to let you know about two great blog link-ups that are promoting giving this month. You should definitely check these out!

The first is the 30 Day Giving Challenge. Readers and participants are asked to document their giving in a journal for 30 days. The giving could be big or small, time or money, whatever God prompted each one to do each day. You can read more about it here.

The second is the $10 Food Bank Challenge by Gina from Moneywise Moms. This is a fun challenge for us savvy shoppers to set aside $10 this month and use our coupon/deal strategies to stretch that money as far as we can to purchase non-perishable goods to be donated to a local food bank. You can read more about it here.

As a coupon/deal finder I’ve been so thankful to be able to stretch my family’s hard-earned dollars to benefit our family, and simultaneously be able to turn around and bless others (hey, when you get so many free tubes of toothpaste from CVS and other drug stores, it makes it so easy and inexpensive to give to those in need!) . I want to encourage you all to be finding ways to give to those in need this month, whether by flexing your couponing skills, donating your time or money, or other means. The saying is true “it’s better to give, than to receive.”
