Mother’s Day Weekend Activities & Food Deals

Happy Mother’s Day to all you wonderful moms! Here are some of my favorite deals and activities for the weekend here in Northern Virginia and the Washington, DC metropolitan area:

Today, Saturday, May 7th, 2011

Red Velvet Cupcakery locations will be giving out a free cupcake to the first 50 people at each store that say the secret password “Mommy” today, Saturday, May 7th. They open at 11:00 am and have 2 DC locations and 1 Reston, VA location. For more information, click here. To find a location near you, click here.

Cox Farms in Centreville, VA will have a free event for kids to decorate a flower pot for mom. They’ll get a free flower to put in the pot as well. Event runs from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 7th. For more information, click here.

Tomorrow, Sunday, May 8th (Mother’s Day):

TCBY will be giving moms a free frozen yogurt at participating locations on Sunday, May 8th. For more information, click here. Be sure to call your local store to confirm participation.

Rita’s of Alexandria has a printable coupon for Buy 1 item, Get 1 Free. Good only on Sunday, May 8th.

Caribou Coffee is offering a Buy 1, Get 1 Free special for moms at participating locations on Sunday, May 8th. For more information, click here.

HI! DO YOU KNOW IF THERE ARE STILL COUPONS IN THE FAIRFAX TIMES? EITHER I ALWAYS FIND THEM TOO LATE OR THERE AREN’T ANY ANYMORE. WOULD LOVE TO KNOW IF YOU KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS. AND THANKS MUCH FOR ALL THE GOOD DEAL AND COUPON POSTS!!!

Hi Deanna,
Yes, the Fairfax Times still has coupon inserts to my knowledge. It is issued each Wed. and should have the Smart Source insert from the previous Sunday, and the Red Plum insert for the upcoming Sunday (4 days ahead of the Washington Post).
Try picking up the Fairfax Times on Wed. or Thurs. if you can. You should be able to pick up some copies with the coupon inserts still in it.
