*CLOSED*Fall Capital Home Show Ticket Giveaway

**This Contest is now closed. Congrats to Hannah, Stacy, Tamra & Joe. Winners please check your inbox for an email from me.**

Now that summer and vacations are behind us and the fall is quickly approaching, are you ready to tackle your next home-improvement project?

If the answer is yes, then I have good news for you! Friday, September 23rd – Sunday September 25th, 2011 is the annual Capital Home Show at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, VA. If you’re looking to tackle a home project, or want to see an HGTV star and Top Chef winner in person, you’ll definitely want to attend! You’ll also get the chance to find out the latest design trends, attend sessions with celebrity experts, meet with local vendors to discuss your home projects and collect swag (it seems like there are always a bunch of bags, pens, rulers, etc. being handed out). Be sure to ask vendors if they have any special home show discounts if you sign up; you’ll find quite a few of them are offering discounts or coupons for home show attendees.

Some of the highlights of this year’s show include:

  • Yigit Pura, from Bravo’s Top Chef: Just Desserts. Appearing Saturday & Sunday on the Kitchen Stage to share his culinary secrets.
  • Sasha Andreev from HGTV’s Curb Appeal. Appearing Saturday on the Remodeling Stage to share tips that will inspire you to create grand curb appeal.
  • Mike McGrath, expert and host of the nationally syndicated Public Radio Show You Bet Your Garden, will share his expertise in gardening during a variety of stage presentations on Friday only (11am, 1pm & 3pm).
  • Sand Castles from the Sand Sculpture Company. The company’s artists, well-known for their creative and original sculptures, have set a total of seven world records and participated in the first reality TV show on sand sculpting, Sand Blasters.
  • Chef Andy Kustarz of Morton’s Steakhouse will share a dynamic Steak & Seafood presentation on the Kitchen Stage.
  • Monica Bhide, the well-known DC foodie blogger of A Life of Spice and author of multiple cookbooks including her latest: Modern Spice will be presenting on the Kitchen Stage to share her love of Indian food and cooking tips.
  • The Melting Pot, the nation’s largest fondue restaurant franchise, will be offering a delicious presentation on the Kitchen Stage.
  • Ugly Kitchen Contest – If you’re in need of a kitchen facelift, you can enter to win a full kitchen makeover!
  • The ReDesign with ReStore Room by Habitat for Humanity and IRIS – The renovation teams from Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia ReStores and the redesigners of the National Area chapter of IRIS (Interior Redesign Industry Specialists) will show you how to repurpose household furniture to create new items with a personal style all while staying within budget. *I can’t wait to attend this one!*
  • Hundreds of exhibits representing local companies and contractors in the remodeling, design, garden and home improvement-related industries.

Kids 5 and under have free admission and children 6-12 years old are only $3.00 per ticket. Regular adult admission is $10.00 (with discounted $7.00 tickets being sold online here). But, I’m happy to have the opportunity to giveaway 2 free tickets to 4 lucky winners! You have up to 3 ways to enter:

Disclosure: Special thanks to the Capital Home Show marketing & PR firm for supplying these free tickets for my readers! On a side note, my husband’s company has an exhibit at the home show each year and so as an exhibitor we’ve gotten complimentary tickets for the past years as each exhibitor does. This giveaway is held separate from the tickets supplied to my husband’s company and has been coordinated directly through the Capital Home Show team. The opinions shared in this post are my own, and I love to share great deals, local events and giveaways for my readers!
