Today, Monday October 8th, 2012 is Columbus Day. In case you weren’t sure, it IS a federal holiday, so besides the bank & library (and other offices) being closed, you can also get free street parking in DC all day long! It’s a great day to go downtown and hit the museums and monuments with free parking.
The Department of Public Works will not ticket drivers for certain parking regulations, including expired meters, residential parking and street sweeping, will be suspended for the holiday.
