With spring here, it’s time to look forward to fresh, new fashion trends for the whole family! Potomac Mills, one of the top retail destinations in Virginia, hosted their first #TrendPop fashion event this weekend to celebrate spring and the trends that are popping onto the style scene.

Kelly Collis, AKA CityShopGirl as well as radio personality on 94.7 Fresh FM, emceed the event and gave the rundown on styles and ensembles from stores across the mall. Both women’s apparel & accessories, plus children’s fashion were highlighted, with attire from Neiman Marcus Last Call, Banana Republic Factory Store, Crazy 8, Janie and Jack, and more. Models displayed different fashion trends popular this spring, all of which can be found at Potomac Mills. Kelly even wore her own Potomac Mills find, a gorgeous Shoshanna dress from Neiman Marcus Last Call paired with neon orange pumps.

The #TrendPop event took place by the Neighborhood 2 Entrance between TJ Maxx and Sears. The children’s play area, sponsored by Sentara Healthcare, was transformed into the #TrendPop lounge, a bright event space with fresh, colorful poppies, white couches, white spherical turning chairs, and bright bean bag chairs. Kids and adults alike enjoyed lounging, snacking, face painting and balloon artistry, while watching the fashion show. The event culminated with a special musical performance from popular children’s entertainer Oh Susannah!

The POP theme for this event was absolutely adorable. The fashion show portion included family-friendly activities showcasing the top design trends with pops of color, and even offered complimentary sweet pops: lollipops, cake pops, soda pop, and more.

The #TrendPop event drew in a great crowd including lots of moms, kids and even some dads. I loved running into a few other local bloggers who love fashion deals too! It was great seeing Sarah from Capitally Frugal, Jocelyn from Hip Mama’s Place, Heather from Sugar N Spice Life & Melissa Ann (representing RHNOVA). Us bloggers were of course tweeting and instagraming up-a-storm with pictures and fashion tips straight from the event. Plus, we couldn’t help but snap a group photo too :).

If you’ve never visited Potomac Mills or it’s been ages since you’ve been, you’ll be pleased to hear that Potomac Mills is a mall popping with deals! It’s the largest outlet mall in the Washington, DC area featuring over 200 stores with a mix of popular name brand outlets, value retailers as well as full-price stores. Of course, for a bargain shopper like me, the draw of Potomac Mills is definitely the great deals on hot name brands and fashions! Within the past year, Potomac Mills has added a Kate Spade New York Outlet, EXPRESS Factory Outlet, Charlotte Russe, A|X Armani Exchange, Steve Madden and a first-in-state location for The Limited Outlet.
