Thanks to a post by Money Saving Mom back in August, I found out that Starbucks now offers a free beverage to you on your birthday if you are a member of the Starbucks Card Rewards program. If you have a Starbucks gift card (it can even have a $0 balance like mine currently does!), just go online here and create an account and register your card (this is free to do). Make sure you provide them with your birthday and mailing address. When your birthday rolls around they will mail you a postcard like this:

I got mine in the mail about a month after my birthday, but I forgive you Starbucks! A free latte anytime is fine by me!
Also, since I’m on the subject of birthdays… I’m considering putting together a list of Northern VA birthday freebies in an upcoming post. There are some great resources online that cover national deals, but I was thinking of weeding through the long lists and adding more that I find that are specific to the NoVA/DC area. I’ve always thought it would be nice to have a concise list of birthday freebies just in our area, so I guess I’ll work on it!

Hi my name’s Laura, the blogger behind Beltway Bargain Mom, and I’m a native of the Washington, DC metropolitan region. I’m a Christian, wife, mother of two and social media/web consultant so I wear many different hats and keep uber-busy… Typical Washingtonian! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find this site useful for deals and frugal, family-friendly events here in our Nation's Capital!

free starbucks latte on Oct 15 between 4-6pm is just a sample..so I wouldnt rush over there…
Yes, thanks for sharing Sally! I was kind of disappointed by it (I was the 1st person there for the sample, had to wait 15 minutes while they put the machine together for the first time, then they ended up giving my drink away to someone else and giving me a teeny tiny bit leftover in a cup…), but it was nice of Starbucks to offer free samples.
