Summer 2011 Free (and Cheap) Movies for Kids at DC-area Theaters

Summertime is here and there are so many fun, free activities to keep the kids entertained in the DC Metropolitan area. Here are some free and cheap movies you can see at local theaters!

FREE:

Phoenix Free Summer Movie Series
Select Free G & PG Movies at 10am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting June 28th, 2011 through August 17th, 2011. Doors open at 9am.

Rave Motion Pictures Free Family Film Festival
Select Free G & PG Movies at 10am on Tuesdays and Thursdays (please note, the website currently states the free films are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but I spoke with a customer rep. & manager to confirm show dates & have been told that the website incorrectly states Wednesdays but should actually be Thursdays). Starting Tues. June 28th, 2011 through Thurs. August 18th, 2011. Doors open at 9:30am.

Regal Entertainment Group Summer Movie Express
This 9-week festival shows select G & PG Movies for only $1.00 per person at 10am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Starting in late June (starting June 22st in some locations, June 28th in other locations) through mid/late August.
Local participating cinemas in VA: Kingstowne Stadium 15 (Alexandria), Ballston Common Stadium 12 (Arlington), Fox Stadium 16 (Ashburn), Fairfax Town Center 10 (Fairfax), Fredericksburg Movies 14 (Fredericksburg), Manassas Stadium 14 (Manassas), Countryside Stadium 20 (Sterling). AMC Summer Movie Camp has unfortunately been discontinued this year. Last year, attendance dropped so significantly that they made the difficult decision to discontinue the program. While they don’t have Summer MovieCamp any longer, if you come before noon, shows will have value pricing (around $6 per ticket). There are multiple locations in the DC metro area.
