Just a reminder that I’ll be leading a Couponing Workshop on Thursday, March 8th from 7pm – 9pm in the Fairfax County Government Center (12000 Government Center Parkway, Conference Room 7). I was told yesterday that there are exactly 3 spots left in the class, so if you want to attend, be sure to RSVP now! This is a FREE class and you can register by e-mailing consumer@fairfaxcounty.gov or calling 703-222-8435 TTY 711.

This workshop is geared toward beginners and I’ll be giving an overview on the benefits of couponing and tips on how to be a savvy shopper. We’ll discuss where to find coupons and when to use them. I’m hoping to make this a hands-on workshop and we’ll have coupons and other materials to give out during the class, plus you’re encouraged to bring coupons you don’t need, to swap with others.

This workshop is in conjunction with National Consumer Protection Week and the Fairfax County Consumer Affairs department is joining with federal, state and local government agencies and national organizations to celebrate the 14th annual National Consumer Protection Week, March 4-10, 2012. Included in the week’s programs will be special seminars and information on how consumers can protect their privacy, manage money and debt, avoid identity theft, and avoid frauds and scams.

You can find a list of the week’s seminars on their website here.
