Looking for a fun, family-friendly, educational event over Memorial Day weekend here in the DC metro area?

Then you’ll want to mark your calendar: May 25th – 27th, 2012 from 6:00pm-9:00pm is the Sunset Celebration at Mount Vernon. This is a fun-filled, family event where visitors can take evening tours of Mount Vernon estates and relax and watch the sunset. You’ll have the rare opportunity to visit the grounds after the daytime crowds have departed, enjoy strolling the lantern-lit grounds, listen to 18-century music, take wagon rides, and enjoy colonial dancing and games. Plus visitors can relax and enjoy desserts & wine (available for purchase to those 21 and older with a valid ID) as they watch the sunset while overlooking the Potomac River. What a great, scenic and relaxing way to spend the evening!

If you’re interested in attending this fun event, you can purchase tickets online here. Kids 5 and under have free admission; Children 6-11 years old are $12.00 per ticket; Regular adult admission is $18.00.
