National Donut Day is coming up this Friday, June 1st, 2012! Some of the big chains are offering a free doughnut or special promotion to celebrate:

  • Dunkin’ Donuts: Free donut with any beverage purchase at participating US stores. For more information, see their Facebook page here. To find a location near you, click here. I recommend calling ahead of time to confirm participation.
  • Krispy Kreme: Free doughnut at participating Krispy Kreme stores, no purchase necessary. Limit 1 per person. For more information, click here. To find a location near you, click here. I recommend calling ahead of time to confirm participation. They have locations in DC, Alexandria VA, Fredericksburg VA, & Rockville MD.
  • Walmart: Free donut between 9:00am – 11:00am at your local Supercenter. Limit one per person. For more information, check out their Facebook post here. Thanks reader Lisa for sharing this!
  • Fractured Prune: Select locations are offering a free “O. C. Sand” donut (no purchase necessary) in honor of National Donut Day. I confirmed on the phone that the Frederick MD location has this offer from 6:30am – 2:00pm (the hours they are open) on Friday, June 1st. To find a location near you, click here (locations are in DE, MD, OH & PA… they used to have No. VA. locations, but unfortunately they closed a few years ago). Please call to confirm participation at your local store.
  • Lamar Donuts: Free gourmet donut, no purchase necessary. For more information, click here. To find a location near you, click here (only located in AL, AZ, CO, KS, MO, NE – sadly no DC area shops). I recommend calling ahead of time to confirm participation.
  • Tim Hortons: Free Donut with any purchase, when you “like” their Facebook page and print off this coupon. Valid only on June 1, 2012. Unfortunately they do not have restaurants here in the DC area, but do have a location in Norfolk, VA and a variety of stores in 10 states across the Northeast & Midwest.
