Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Built To Amaze! DC

My children and I had the opportunity to attend  Ringing Bros. and Barnum & Bailey present Built To Amaze! on opening night at the Patriot Center. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey is known for producing “The Greatest Show on Earth” and this latest show is a fun one!

We arrived early to check out the All-Access Pre-show. We were able to join the performers and other audience members down on the floor, try on circus costumes, meet and take photos with clowns and other circus performers, see acrobats performing aerial acts, plus see the elephants up close!

We then took our seats and enjoyed an introduction from ring master Andre McClain, followed by an opening performance with bright costumes, high energy acrobatics, impressive elephants and funny clowns. The theme of “Built To Amaze” was woven into the entire show with construction themed props and scenarios. One particularly interesting character was the man made out of orange traffic cones. At one point the clowns were trying to help clean up a section of the floor but ended up making a huge mess or paint splatter.

From the whole evening, some of our favorite parts included the ponies, bunny in the hat trick, King Charles Troupe from NYC basketball unicycle feats, the funny shenanigans from the clowns, the tigers and of course the elephants. My kids had a great time!
