Happy National Cupcake Day everyone! That’s right, today, Wed. December 15th is disputedly the date claimed to honor the confection we bake and serve in cup-size portions. Here are some deals & freebies you can get today in the DC metro area:
- Maggie Moo’s is giving out FREE samples of their new ice cream cupcake when you bring a canned food item to donate. This is taking place from 3pm – 7pm today at participating stores while supplies last. For more information and to find a list of participating stores, click here.
- Curbside Cupcakes, the gourmet cupcake truck that makes its way around DC, is celebrating the entire week by offering the first 20 customers at each stop a FREE cupcake when you tell them the daily secret password. For more details and to find out the daily password, become their Facebook fan or follow them on Twitter.
- Georgetown Cupcake continues their daily tradition of giving away a FREE cupcake to the first 100 customers at each store, when you name the secret flavor announced on Twitter and their Facebook Fan Page. These go extremely fast! Since today’s secret flavor was announced over an hour ago, I assume they’ve already given out all the free flavor cupcakes for the day. They have one store in Georgetown, DC and another in Bethesda, MD.
- Red Velvet Cupcakery deal on Living Social today: $40-worth of cupcakes for only $20 at Red Velvet Cupcakery. Valid at 2 locations in DC (Dupont Circle and Penn Quarter) and 1 location in Reston, VA. Some limits and restrictions apply. This deal can only be purchased today, Wed. 12/15/10 and will disappear at midnight. According to the Living Social deal, you can take off another $2 when you “like” Red Velvet on Facebook: “we’ll discount your purchase when your credit card is charged. Save $2.00 on this deal!
