Wed. July 24th & Thurs. July 25th, 2013 at 10:30 am you can catch Alastair Moock performing live at Wolf Trap for the Theatre-in-the-Woods! Get a country-sized helping of sing-and-dance-along tunes served family-style with acclaimed musician Alastair Moock, who has an “indie sensibility hip parents dig” (The Boston Herald). He has been featured on Good Morning America, Yahoo! Katie’s Take with Katie Couric, Best Kids’ Albums Pick for July, 2013 in People Magazine, and more. Plus once you read more about his inspiration -his daughter who is fighting cancer- you’ll definitely want to hear his music:
Alastair Moock: Time Out New York calls him “a musical descendant of Woody Guthrie [who] refreshes the classic brand of acoustic folk with a zany sense of humor.” Alastair Moock and Friends’ live shows are rowdy, rootsy, singin’ and dancin’ fun for the whole family! He has been awarded Boston Children’s Music Favorite Album of the Year, the Parents’ Choice Awards Silver Honor, and the National Parents Publishing Awards (NAPPA) Gold Honor for his first two albums. At this summer’s show, Moock will present the world premiere of his upcoming 2013 CD. After one of Moock’s daughters was diagnosed with leukemia in 2012, he began creating an album that focuses on appreciating the little things, coping with hardship, and embracing the struggle. He is currently fundraising for the record (tentatively titled Singing Our Way Through: Songs for the World’s Bravest Kids), which he plans to give as a free resource to pediatric oncologists. “Moock refreshes the classic brand of acoustic folk with a zany sense of humor as seen on songs about a mixed-up alphabet (‘CBAs’), being a curious toddler (‘Three Like Me’) and harvesting your own veggie garden (‘Didn’t Know What I Was Missing).”—The Boston Herald
