National Park Week 2015

Happy National Park Week! In case you didn’t know, April 18 – 26, 2015 is designated as the official 2015 National Park Week. To kick it off, this weekend, Saturday April 18th – Sunday April 19th,  you can enjoy free admission to over 130 national parks that normally charge entrance fees.

Some popular National Parks around the Washington DC area that normally charge admission include: Great Falls Park, Fort Washington Park, Manassas National Battlefield, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and Prince William Forest.

To find a complete list of entrance free dates, and participating national parks in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia, check out 2015 Free Admission Dates to National Parks post.

To find out more about each park and its offerings, be sure to check out “Find Your Park.” The National Park Service and the National Park Foundation recently launched Find Your Park, a public awareness and education campaign celebrating the centennial anniversary of the National Park Service in 2016. Find Your Park encourages people to connect with and celebrate our national parks and public lands, and explore different park experiences. It’s the perfect way to help you find your park and discover new parks, as well as historic sites, heritage areas, memorials, monuments, preserves and public lands.

Enjoy free admission to parks this weekend and celebrate our national parks this week for National Park Week!
