Mosaic District Merrifield VA + $100 Giveaway!

There’s a cool new shopping center in town, and I’m so excited to share all the details with you.

Remember a week and a half ago I shared that I was featured on the Today Show covering the Virginia Sales Tax Weekend? For that shoot, I was walking around the seriously hip urban retail development, Mosaic District in Merrifield, VA! You have probably already heard about this new, unique shopping center. It’s been generating a lot of buzz for its outdoor movies, free outdoor yoga classes, state-of-the art Angelika Film Center, big Target store and cool sprayground. The sprayground has been growing in popularity this summer as Fairfax area families discover the newest free sprayground in our area!

My kids and I had visited the sprayground before but I was excited to find there is so much more to explore at the Mosaic District! This week the Mosaic District invited me to shop and discover all that their shopping center has to offer.

Taylor Gourmet is known for having the best hoagies in town, some cool freebies from time-to-time, and fantastic risotto balls, so I dropped by for a late lunch.

Then I made my way down to Dawn Price Baby, where I got to shop for some unique baby shower gifts and items for my little girl. I loved finding Kid Trips Northern Virginia Edition: Your Family’s Guide To Local Fun! (by my friend Micaela Williamson), as well as some other fun, local-themed kid’s gifts like “City Walks With Kids: Washington, DC” and “Good Night Washington, DC” board book. And yes, I found the cutest pleated dress and hair bow for my 2 year old!

Later that night, my husband & I returned to the Mosaic District for a date night: dessert and a movie. We first stopped at Dolcezza Gelato. We were impressed by their selection of coffee and gelato. I loved the Salted Caramel and Coconut Flavors!

Then we enjoyed “The Way Way Back” (a Sundance Film Festival favorite starring Steve Carell) at the Angelika Film Center. The Angelika Film Center is a sophisticated, state-of-the art cinema complete with a mix of independent films and a cafe offering gourmet snacks and drinks. For those of you cinema buffs, you’ll love the unique movie experience that the Angelika offers. Quite a fun day and evening spent at Mosaic District!
